I WON!!

A while back, I entered the International Thriller Writer's Best First Sentence Competition...

the opening line from Slaughterhouse.

Then promptly forgot about it.

Last week, I received a note from the ITW competition organizers to say I WON!

One of the judges was Alex Finlay, author of If Something Happens To Me.

We've been in touch and he told me he received nearly 200 entries and that mine stood out over the others.

My prize includes a critique of the opening pages of my current WIP, Slaughter for Hire, and a Zoom chat to discuss his comments. I'm excited to see what he things of my newest project.

Thank you ITW and Alex Finlay for the opportunity and for choosing my opening line. To say I'm beyond grateful wouldn't express my appreciation that he's chosen my opening line.
